If you care enough you can use wireshark to capture the request that is
being sent to the master server and see if the actual request packet
matches your search criteria:

I think it is especially bad if you have a server were you look
for randoms to play. I have 8 or so friends I can play with a good
amount but I'd be nice if the server actually showed up and got
populated from time to time for bigger games on a machine that
isn't totally overloaded like the White Label servers are.
