Hello everybody,

on Saturday the European Go Congress (EGC 2012) has started
in Bonn-Bad Godesberg (in Germany).

http://www.egc2012.eu/

In the second week of the Congress there will be some exhibition games
between top humans and selected computer programs. (The programs are
those who won Nick Wedd's monthly KGS bot tournaments in April, June,
and July 2012.)

So far, the following details have been fixed:

9x9
Two games with komi 7.0 and 30 minutes thinking
time for each side.
Bot Zen will play against Motoki Noguchi. (Remember:
Motoki beat Zen twice in the 2011 congress.)
Dates: Tuesday, July 31, 2012
14:30-15:30 and 16:00-17:00 MEST
(MEST = Middle European Summer time; two hours ahead of GMT)

13x13
One game with komi at 7.5
30 minutes thinking time for each side.
Again, bot Zen will play against Motoki Noguchi.
(In Bordeaux, last year, Zen still had got
a slight advantage: black at komi 0.5 - Zen won that game.)
Date: Wednesday, August 01, 2012
14:30-15:30 MEST

19x19
One game.
Thinking times will be 60 minutes for each side or something very similar.
The bot to play is CrazyStone. The human pro still has to be determined.
(The process is underway. Likely we will find a very motivated player.)
Date: Wednesday, August 01, 2012
16:00-18:00 MEST
The human gives either handicap 3, or handicap 4, or handicap 5.
The human will get prize money when winning the game:
100 Euro in case of handicap 3,
200 Euro in case of handicap 4,
300 Euro in case of handicap 5.

Very likely all four games will be played via KGS.
If so, the account for the humans in these games will be
egc2012pro .

I will go to the Congress on Saturday, July 28, and stay there until
August 04,
Ingo.
