That is true with a physical board, but a computer
program can automatically copy rows and columns as
necessary to support infinite scrolling in either
direction. Some minor background reference could
indicate where repetitions start.
I think it would be fun to play on that.
BTW Ladders would not finish at the edges, but they
would finish at their own starting point (assuming the
basic board is a square) if no ladderbreakers are found.
