I don't need to see a 19x19 server to tell me it's going to be too slow. But the question is how slow. So I think David Doshay had the right suggestion to try incrementally larger board-sizes. But there are a few limitations. One is that the increments still go in two's, as the board needs to be uneven in size. And you need humans willing to play the computers.

Personally I'd suggest 13x13. That used to be a common size for beginners when I started to play. If you can make a MC cluster that can play reasonably well on 13x13 then maybe there's hope for 19x19.

Does anybody have any idea where the multi-core CPU designs are taking us the next few decades? The SPS already has 7. Are we going to see 10,000 CPU computers?
