This problem has been going for some time now - I have had it appearing in Linux Mint 8, 9 and 10, which have been installed on 2 different machines (Nvidia and ATI graphics). Still exists using Firefox 3.6.12 (Mint version). A click in another window allows autocompletion of the Firefox URL bar when you go back, but it is a pain to have to do this on a regular basis.
