2. There's still a number of patches for older branches that need to be
applied. 4.x is the only branch we can legit cut a release of at the moment.
(CASSANDRA-18969)
3. Do we want/need to cut a 3.x release ? I know a lot of users out there will
be using 3.x for a long time to come (because of the amount of work required in
rewriting 3.x→4.x)
4-6 are also outstanding. Other tickets are mentioned these topics, it would
be great if we cross-referenced. 6 might not ever be done, but a decision
needs to be made (it would be a nice to have – apache projects pride themselves
on permanence of all changes and comms).
WRT 5 we don't even have the releases listed on our downloads page yet.
([~absurdfarce] was working on this (CASSANDRA-19665) as part of (and blocking)
the 4.18.1 (already successfully voted upon) release.
