The Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) is seeking a smart, creative 
applications developer/integrator to deliver software and services to our 
partner universities using modern devops tools and practices. 

SUMMARY: The WRLC is a collaborative partnership with nine universities 
(American University, The Catholic University of America, Gallaudet University, 
George Mason University, The George Washington University, Georgetown 
University, Howard University, Marymount University, and The University of the 
District of Columbia) providing innovative and cost-effective access to shared 
information resources, services and expertise.

The Applications Integration Developer builds, enhances, integrates and 
monitors high availability IT services responsive to the evolving needs of the 
WRLC partners. We manage these services with expanding use of orchestration 
tools (eg. Ansible), containers (eg. Docker) and cloud infrastructure (eg. 
AWS). The Applications Integration Developer uses Linux and open source 
software extensively on a daily basis. Much of the position’s work involves 
integrating applications with the unified library services platform 
(Alma/Primo), library data resources, and vendor provided web services.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have professional experience with Linux 
application development and systems administration, and the ability to install, 
configure and use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools. An 
important qualification is the ability and desire to independently and 
proactively learn and understand new technologies and applications related to 
academic library, higher education and scholarly research domains.

Desired qualifications include experience with enterprise applications 
development, deployment and management in virtual and cloud environments, and 
knowledge, skills and abilities with databases and search engines, web 
application development frameworks, and software and administration 
orchestration tools.
