Well, I’m more concerned about the “below average” user then. Like it or not we can’t choose our users, and many fall into the category where using a GUI to locate and drag a file to the trash is infinitely preferable to opening terminal and typing commands that have to be letter-perfect. That may be second-nature to us, and so we forget just how afraid of this some users can be. Thankfully, this is extremely rare, and in many cases I’m afraid “trashing the prefs” is akin to voodoo as a solution for a problem, but it’s often put out there (not by us if we really don’t think it will help I hasten to add). Adding a button it is, I agree it’s better all round. So let me turn this into a dev question then. Do I need to actually run a command line task to do this, or is there some API I can use? For example, what does + resetStandardUserDefaults achieve? Anything useful in this case? —Graham _______________________________________________ Cocoa-dev mailing list (Cocoa-dev@lists.apple.com) Please do not post admin requests or moderator comments to the list.
