Thanks. I looked into it - compiled and run. The code uses the keycodes as 
well, and finally doesn't give special characters (tested with JollyVNC client 
and an iPad app).

I think I can get it running "good enough" - but of course a nice solution is 
preferred. At least only the "ANSI" named subset will have different keycodes. 
But those nasty combined characters like é will make me set up a lookup table 
that get's filled up with trial and error on program start.
