Often on this list I see people answering very specific questions with

approach." This is the very opposite of the "snippets illustrate best"
school of thought, and the fact that many of this list's members take
a holistic approach is one of the most valuable things about it.

Also, when we *do* ask to see people's code (which also happens), it's not because the code is the best way to express their intentions. It's because their code is not *fulfilling* their intentions. Not at all the same as code snippets in documentation.
