Hello all,

I replaced our idler plate with an aluminum one from Edson about 7 years
ago. The problem was that the plate is thicker than the original and I
even had to send the old idler pulleys to Edson for installation on the new
plate because the new pulleys were too big for the plate to fit. I also
ended up with the pedestal sitting a little higher due to the thick plate.

If you can get something made out of stainless at a machine shop, that
would be the best option.

As for the cables, I made up 4 myself at West Marine using their rigging
wire and nicopress stage fittings. I have 2 backups I haven't needed and
it's been doing great for many years. That part of the project was cheap
as well.

Hope this helps,
