Joe, do you experience any moisture or condensation on the bottom of the
mattress? Or have you place some kind of aeration there?

I ordered a king-sized memory foam mattress off of Amazon and an electric
carving knife. I put the V-berth cushions on top of it, ran a Sharpie around
the cushions, and then cut along the lines with the electric knife. The
resulting mattress is very comfortable 😊 Wresting it onto the boat and through
the cabin was like fighting with a giant octopus though. The wind was gusting
over 40 the day I took it to the boat and I almost got blown off the dock with
it. Ages ago I had a “topper” made by a company at the boat show, this is
essentially a mattress pad cut to shape for your boat. If I didn’t have this I
would have needed to make one, while the memory foam is very comfortable, in
the summer absent a mattress pad you sink into it and roast.

   - Yes, believe it or not, a C&C 35 MK I V-berth is king-size wide at the aft
end.

You can search on “topper boat mattress pad” and find all kinds of links and
ideas. Cutting the foam mattress to shape myself was WAY cheaper and we use the
electric knife for cutting up roasts and turkeys to this day.

It was either this list or the Facebook list in which someone asked about doing
something to make the V-berth more comfortable for sleeping. Here's a link to a
Sailrite video that might be just what you're looking
for:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-GhD7jLiqw
