Also go under the boat and stick a wire/tube/etc up from that end.

I've got a length of 1/4" diam. plastic (nylon?) tube that I can run from the
sink, through the valve and right out the through hull. Of course, no 90
degree fittings.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was not able to clear the clog with a plunger.
That is partly because with a double sink, it is challenging to cap the other
sink while plunging one. But when I did get the second capped, all I succeeded
in doing was blowing water past the sink/drain tube junction into the
compartment under the sink. What would be nice is something I can feed down
the hose and through the seacock. My next attempt will be to try some wire
types and see if I can find something that works unless someone can suggest a
suitably flexible but stiff solution. Dave

We occasionally get clogs because we spend a lot of weekends on the boat and
make breakfasts when we're there. I find that baking soda and vinegar,
followed by lots of hot water does a good job of cleaning the drain. And yes,
a small plunger. I don't get full clogs, but the drain will run slow once a
year or so.

Close the thru hull, clean your line once a year. Simple and 5 minute job. I

I’ll second Dave’s comment … and suggest a small sink plunger to clear any
obstruction. We get an issue in our head sink, and this is an easy fix.

I’m a big fan of keep it simple …. Except the electronics … my geeky background
I guess.

Hi David
For what it’s worth, Id be reluctant to add any unnecessary hardware or
connections (aka failure points) to a through hull. I’ve had a couple of old
hose clamps snap when being tightened and had hose barbs break in the past.
IMO, Less is best. Windstar had a straight run of reinforced rubber hose
direct from sink drain to seacock, and I don’t recall ever having to clear a
clog. If you can’t design a straight run to the through hull maybe you could
devise a simpler unblocking method?

I have periodically had my sink drain seacock get plugged up from dishwashing
debris. I perforated drain cover has mostly solved the problem, but I had it
happen again recently. I am thinking to create a bypass so that the sink drain
hose comes in one port of a seacock and a straight down port allows water
influx which would clear the block. I think I remember a previous discussion
of converting through hulls to an arrangement like this in the context of
winterizing through the raw water intake valve. Has anyone else done this for
a sink drain or solved the problem in a different way? Thanks- Dave
