Nate - for what it’s worth, you might first try replacing the 42 year old pump with another that might last just as long. This is the simplest fix, the pumps work well, are quite long lived, and have providing for manual operation to bleed the system. I can’t really see an advantage to an electric pump in this application. (Have used plenty in vintage car restorations)
