FLIR is an interesting way to check electrical connections.

I worked on my boat wiring last week installing receptacles, labelling the
panel breakers and installed the panel meter wiring for volts and amps. I saw
my 1500 watt heaters drawing 12 watts each, no hot spots (using touch, don't
have FLIR) on any cords or plugs. The weather dropped below freezing most
nights and I ran the heaters all night and most of five days onboard, no hot
spots. Cabin stayed around 60 to 70 depending on wind. I think I'm good. My
boat now has 9 convenience outlets some are USB combinations which is nice
upgrade for cell phone charging.
