Chuck, Great idea. I do it almost exactly the same (especially raising the jib). Apparently great minds think alike.
I went one step further and when I got the boat, I replaced all blocks at the foot of the mast. They used to be bushing bearings, now they are all Garhauer ball bearing blocks. What a difference! Marek
