David, three boats ago, I ditched the wheel that came with the boat and
purchased a 40 inch Lewmar folding wheel; I absolutely love it! I have moved up
through three different boats, (a C&C 29, 33 and current boat-37); it has a
leather cover that you don't have to do anything with and you will be able to
walk around the helm station without twisting and contorting your body! An
added plus...Christmas is coming...maybe drop a hint to Mrs. Claus...?
