Hello y'all, I got this from another boating list that I am on. Wondering what they are doing with the info? I took the survey. It didn't take long. If it is a way to save money by not putting boyes in shallow water that would be just stupid. At low tide in the harbor I go in and out of four feet outside the channel you would be high and dry. Without those channel markers it would be scary.
This is what was posted: The Coast Guard is soliciting PUBLIC INPUT until Nov. 1st on AIDS to NAVIGATION located in less than 12 feet of water. It could be a prelude to trying to discontinue them. As many people as possible should take the survey – it only takes a few minutes – and will help to indicate how important the ATONS are – The survey is at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ShallowWaterWAMS The survey ends NOV 1st so inform all of your fellow boating enthusiasts ASAP.
