I wouldn't consider anything but Epiphanes gloss varnish for the cabin sole. When wet it’s no more slippery than any other finish and the color is gorgeous while durability is as good as anything else. That’s what I put on my 40 (8 coats from bare wood) and after five years it still looked lovely. It’s on Masquerade, too. Andy
