Some of the handhelds are so nice these days, I decided to just rely on one for the cockpit. It sits in a snap-it holder on the pedestal. I have an unused external mic for my ship-to-shore sitting in the box with no present plans to install.

The main base unit, inside the boat is still working beautifully though. I’m currently torn with the premise of buying a new radio, a new external mic and running a new cable, or just leave things as they are and just use a portable handheld outside. Should I decide to go with a new radio and external mic setup, does anyone have recommendations? All the best, Edd Edd M.
