Sounds like any plastic washer will be better than what you have. Obviously you won’t want to buy something out of your country, but this

I have used Rulon bearings in the past, and they are hands down the slipperiest plastic bearing material I have used. But, like you say, Delrin (Acetal) will work fine, and you can cut it with common woodworking tools. Usually this washer is made of some kind of thermoplastic (vesconite), delrin etc. In my case this material looks and feels like brake pad - any ideas what it could be ? In top of the rudder stock is rudder head, which prevents rudder from dropping off. Under rudder head is some kind of metallic material - looks like braking pad - attached with two screws. This pad rubs against bronze rudder carrier. Problem is, that this "braking pad" thing is almost weared through - any ideas how to get replacement or what material it is ?
