My pole peeled a little, and I got some clear coat, but never gotaround to re-Applying it. I don’t think it will normally peel, unless it isnicked, then it starts. If you touch it up right away, you can nip it in thebud. They say a good polymer on the clear coat, like ReJex will do a good jobof protecting the clear coat, while the clear coat protects the epoxy in thecarbon fiber. My neighbor has a clear-coat carbon fiber spar on his J-160, andI don’t think it has been touched since 1997. Or, if you want to baby it, I have seen some guys in the fleetput a little cloth bag under the boom, and store it there.
