The typical cheap moisture meter uses prongs to measure the moisture,  the 
inductive ones are fuzzy magic and they aren't very reliable unless you get a 
very expensive one.  
Flir has a new camera that works well and is only a couple hundred dollars, but 
if you are only going to use it once it is kind of expensive.  
I would say that the temperature gradient that Flir gives you is a better 
indication of moisture than the inductive unit as three inductive unit can be 
easily fooled by changes in material density.
