White Water made stainless handrails and a new stern pulpit for my 42. The
work is generally high quality, but I encountered two issues:

1) with the handrails, as I noted not too long ago, White Water’s
configuration is to weld a nut into the “feet,” and the rail is attached by
bolting from inside. The result is very solid. However, I discovered that
several of the nuts became slightly distorted due to the heat of welding, and
White Water failed to re-tap them before shipping the finished product. We
discovered the problem while installing the first handrail (after everything
had been gooped, of course), and we broke a bolt in the process. It was an
easily preventable problem that turned into a big hassle.

2) with the stern pulpit, I gave White Water the original pulpit to use as a
template and sent additional measurements (the original was a bit flimsy and
“sprung” when it was removed). The new rail was more robust and did not fit in
the old pulpit holes (despite much effort), which also became a big hassle.
White Water worked with me on the remedy, but I lost a couple weeks messing
around.

The bottom line: depending on what you’re replacing, don’t expect the job to go
perfectly smoothly.

Thanks for the replies.
I don't have spec sheets or build files for the 41, but I can take detailed
measurements which will help.
I'll check out White Water Marine for as well.
