Thanks Ken The problem is old eyes. Can see the depth numbers fine when is in daytime mode. When it switches to nighttime just as I am skirting a shoal the depth numbers become unreadable for me when the CP suddenly changes. Is at a place where I really do not like to switch from chart screen to menus to start playing … since I want to see the shoal and depth markings at that point in time.
I will take a look at the display next time I am at the boat and see if I can change the nighttime colours to be the same as daytime colours but dimmer. It would be very nice if it would scale down the brightness gradually based on light rather than on time of day. All of this reminds me that I have to take electronics off the boat this week anyway and also flares …. It switches automatically between these settings at sun set / sunrise. Ken H.
