That would be a bad idea. A 170 would be made out of light cloth and would be ruined in heavy air. Also you can only roll in so far and have a decent sail. IMHO for cruising most of our boats, a furling jib in the 130%-140% range and an asym chute are a good combo. Besides for that, between paying for a recut and the sacrificial sun cover, you will be in for a lot of money for a very suboptimal sail. Joe Coquina C&C 35 MK I
