FYI, the old windows that I replaced on my 42 fit in the cabin house cavities
almost perfectly. As a result, gel coat around the cavities was (and still is)
chipped in several places. I assume that the chipping was caused by the plexi
expanding more than the surrounding cavity on hot days. Based on the
recommendation of this list, my replacement windows were cut 3/16” smaller than
the cavities, all around, which required more effort than simply tracing the
old windows. In addition, my windows were not identical on the port and
starboard sides. Close, but not identical, which required some additional
adjustment. I ordered my plexi on-line and had the pieces cut locally based on
wooden patterns that I made from very thin plywood.

Eric, where did you buy your windows?

EAB: Plastic-Craft Products in West Nyack NY (local)

Did you have a pattern from the old ones to cut your own?

EAB: I made a patterns before I removed the old windows by tracing the old
ones. I had the windows cut for me.

Where did you source your VHB tape?

EAB: Amazon
