I was down in the head when my buddy ran aground so hard I bounced around like a pinball. I went up on deck and he indignantly said the depth finder changed from 12 to 3 feet in a heartbeat. I pointed forward and made note that the bow was about 20 feet from dry land and enquired as to when exactly he thought he should tack. A passing powerboat came over and we connected the spinnaker halyard to his boat. He pulled 90 degrees from our heading and hauled the boat over on her side while we backed off.
