I used Brightside on mine. Rolled and tipped. 3 coats.
Sanded the original anodised mast right down to full metal. Etched with WEST 2 part etc (No longer available) then primed with Zinc Chromate (No longer available) All of the “No longer available” I happened to find old stock around, with folks who didn’t know it has been banned. Looks amazing and has been up for 3 years with no problem. Brightside is not hard like the epoxy paint that Akzo Nobel sell, but It was straightforward to apply, once I learned to really, really thin it, and keep a wet edge. A few dings, of course, with the yellow chromate showing through till I touch it up. Does anyone on here have a clue what paint C&C uses on their spars? The local chandlery suggested Interlux Brightside, not knowing what is currently on there. Any help would be appreciated.
