Bruce,

If you are going to be cruising and adding more chain, I would think a
windlass is a must.  We have a 35  pound anchor and a short piece of
stainless 3/8 chain.  When my windlass failed I needed a second set of
hands to hoist it.

For the islands you need enough chain to keep the line off the coral.  I'll
be buying 100 feet of chain when that day finally arrives.
