My furler has a split drum. I have a furling 135 for cruising, and I remove the drum during the racing season for my racing sails. If I had thought more about it, I would have made all my sails (racing and cruising) furling sails. It's nice to have a clear deck after raising the spinnaker. Now the foredeck crew have to be extra careful so as not to trip over the genoa that's laying on the deck.
