Your first email stated:
"When we switched to battery 1 bank, it stopped. Ideas????"

Your second email stated:
"The light flashes once per second on both battery banks and is
consistently charging at 14.4 volts."

It is difficult to diagnose problems described by email. It is even more
difficult when the description changes.

As stated before I'm pretty sure that the light is a simple low (and maybe
high) voltage indicator. You need a voltmeter to determine actual
alternator output voltage at the alternator terminals, each battery voltage
at the terminals (while the engine is running AND not running, voltage
feeding the engine control panel near the engine, and finally (if possible)
voltage at the control panel circuit.

Do you have an external voltage regulator?
