FWIW, I upgrade Touche's VHF with each significant upgrade in features or technology.
When I bought the boat in 1999, one of the first upgrades was a new VHF. When RAM mikes came out, I upgraded again. When VHF's with AIS came out, I upgraded again. I sold all the old radios on eBay or to other boat owners. Agree with Fred, grab a SH GX2200. Your VHF radio is the one place you want dependable operation. Dennis C.
