Hi Paul I'd test it! Until 2 years ago my boat had an Autohelm 4000 in use, it was fine for holding a straight line but not so good for tacking. I actually sold it on ebay for an amount that surprised me.
Check Raymarine's web site, they have (had?) old manuals on there. And it looks like a good install of the drive down below. Your 3rd picture with the Brookes and Gatehouse is not part of the pilot, that is the old brain of a wind instrument.
