Keep in mind that the controller will simply see a higher voltage on the battery and will stop charging. No ill effects. My morningstar controller is permanently connected to the battery (actually to both, but it is a dual controller). Any other source of charge has simply to compete. But all of them depend on the voltage, so they can easily work together. MarekC270 "Legato "Ottawa, ON

My plan is to use the NC sun to keep my starting battery topped off between races without using the battery charger/AC although if I am on board, I will use the charger. My question for the list is will the Solar controller be damaged if I switch the battery charger on while the solar unit is still connected to the battery? My SWAG is that it is protected against such events with a diode but I prefer a confirmation of this before it happens.
