I read that due to the angle of the engine oil level should be kept at the top end of the range rather that any lower point on the dipstick. As a result I probably overfilled it by about 1/2 quart.
Aside from the smoke today, it ran fine...sailed even better. Glorious Mayday here in the Pacific Northwest!
