I have the Garhauer rigid vang on my 30 and love it. We have a boomkicker on the J-80 and I don't. The 80 system isn't as easy to adjust as the Garhauer, and that may be the J-80 method, which has adjusters on each side of the boat. You pull like hell and very little happens. Not so with the Garhauer, you pull and you get movement.
