Mike, I experienced the very same thing on Ocean Pearl last year. After months of trying to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge (never could get the threads to match) and checking with the old Yanmar gurus - who said I had lots of oil pressure -I discovered a loose connector on the temp sensor unit. Replaced that very old unit with new and she's been singing beautifully ever since. I was seeing the panel lights incorrectly - it was the temp alarm, not oil pressure. No false alarms now. 2 cents.
