I’m going to assume that the original poster’s Atomic 4 doesn’t have a
reduction gear. that’s the biggest problem with the A4 , it doesn’t make much
power under 2500rpm and there are not any props that work well above 2500. A
lot of the A4 guys are using Indigo props which will at least get the rpms up
above 2000. My boat has an old never been rebuilt A4 with a 2:1 reduction gear
turning a fixed 16x10 2-blade prop. I cruise at 6.25-6.5 knots at 2750rpms. And
that’s in a 15000 lb 38 ft. There is a lot of discussion over on the Moyer site
about this.
