Hi, Edd — the negative side of the charger output can go straight to the main negative bus bar; this should have a large conductor straight to the negative sides of both the house and start banks. DO NOT just grab any local ground point, as the connection from it to the battery may not be sound; or it may not be adequately sized for the charger current. The positive should go to the house positive bar or straight to the battery, through an appropriately-sized fuse or breaker.
