RE: Zephyrworks

I had Zephyrworks make replacement delrin sheaves for Calypso's Palmer/Johnson
spinnaker blocks. I did not need ball bearings. The bronze bearing will be an
upgrade from the original.

Ed was helpful, shipped on time and did the work for a fair price. I will be
using Ed again for another couple of sheaves in the near future. I you do not
see what you need on his web site give him a call.

Subject: Stus-List Replacement Sheaves

Guys,

As part of my spring maintenance, I’ve been going over the mast. Yesterday, I
was going to lubricate the masthead sheaves and found that one of them was bad.
I had replaced all of them about ten years ago. The torlon bearings in one of
sheaves have gone bad. The sheave will barely turn and it feels like gravel
inside instead of bearings. I can’t remember where I picked them up, but I
need a replacement. These sheaves are 2 ¾” in diameter, ½” wide, and run on a
½” shaft.

I’ve looked at Zephyrworks, but would like another sheave with bearings. They
are pretty friction free and don’t require any maintenance. Google hasn’t
been much help yet, but I thought someone on the list might have a source.

Thanks,

Jake
