Oops, I think I messed things up already. My McMaster Carr foam cord arrived this week and it's much more squishy and soft than I expected. I got the "weather-resistant high-temperature santoprene foam" (part #6322K13) because they sell it in 10' lengths ($7.70) and it sounded similar to the other foam on that page (which is only sold in 100' lengths for $33).
The foam compresses under my finger down to the height of the hatch groove (flush with the surface) which doesn't seem like it will make a seal. http://svviolethour.com/?attachment_id=183 http://svviolethour.com/?attachment_id=184 I guess I should've gotten the "weather resistant EPDM foam" (part #8605K43). Now I'll have 100' when I only need 6'. So if anyone near Seattle needs some foam cord, just let me know! -Patrick 1984 LF38 S/V Violet Hour Seattle, WA On Wed, Mar 25, 2015 at 9:11 PM, Patrick Davin <jda...@gmail.com> wrote: > Thanks for the quick replies!
