I'd use a Rustoleum spray for the engine, but that's cause I've had much success with their paints. The brush on liguid paint seems even better.

What kind of paint would be appropriate to repair this with to keep rust down? 2. The yard service guy took a look at the bottom of my boat prior to the blasting job (this week?) and scraped about a 6” square area to see what was there. According to him there was no barrier coat under the bottom paint, but the gel coat looked fine. I have never heard of a bottom without barrier coat. Is that possible? I certainly plan to barrier coat it this spring prior to painting, but this was a surprise.
