Hi all- Now that the boat is put to rest for the winter, I am thinking about new projects for the spring.
1- There are a few spots where connections have leaked in the engine compartment and the paint is peeling off the metal. What kind of paint would be appropriate to repair this with to keep rust down? 2. The yard service guy took a look at the bottom of my boat prior to the blasting job (this week?) and scraped about a 6” square area to see what was there. According to him there was no barrier coat under the bottom paint, but the gel coat looked fine. I have never heard of a bottom without barrier coat. Is that possible? I certainly plan to barrier coat it this spring prior to painting, but this was a surprise. Aries 1990 C&C 34+ New London, CT
