We did the same when we bought our boat 1800 km away from home in Toronto in 2010.
We are in Cape Breton. We used a Halifax Broker to represent our interest and hired a surveyor in Toronto to go over the boat in detail before we purchased it. We did fly up to view the boat and do a sea trial before closing the deal. Ken H.
