when I finished my companionway boards I coated them with West System epoxy and
then 8 coats of Epiphanies Spar Varnish. They are are holding up very well,
but they are never in direct sunlight as the cockpit is covered all summer and
the I have the winter cover on, well, all winter...LOLI finished my handrails
without the epoxy and I'm sorry I did, Although they are holding up pretty
well I'm seeing some weathering in spots. If I were to do my sole (which I may
this winter if she doesn't sell), I'd use that method without hesitation. I
would research more as to the varnish. I've seen that conversation go by on
here not too long ago but my CRS syndrome prevents my recollection of the
recommendations in that thread... Danny

Listers,
Seeking recommendations for a varnish to use on the interior floorboards on
the Enterprise. Of course, I want something that is easy to apply, takes a
coat or two to have a award-winning appearance, is durable and something that
will last for a decade or more. And since that produce doesn’t exist,
I’d like to know what would be the best compromise. The boat's up for
the winter, so I’d like to get brushing over the next few weekends.
All the best, Edd Edd M. SchillayStarship EnterpriseC&C 37+ | Sail No:
