If you operate a boat, even a sailboat, you need to know rules of the road, basic seamanship and marine safety. I'm always amazed at the low level of knowledge of many boaters. I once sailed in convoy with another sailboat. We came to a major ship channel with a LARGE ship transiting the channel. The other sailor appeared to believe he had right of way over this large ship in a confined channel. The ship sounded the six whistle alarm.
