Eric,

We did this job last Spring. The old windows were cracked, had gaps and
leaked a lot whenever it rained.

The old ones came up pretty easily with a blade and we did not damage
to the gel coat. The biggest hassle was getting the surface ready for the new
windows, including removing different glues, dirt, etc.

For the windows themselves, I ordered large sheets of dark plexiglass
and had a template ready from the old windows. One of my crew had access to a
blade machine and sanding machine — made some great copies for just the cost of
the plexi.

To put the new windows in, we used 3M fuselage tape, but found on some
of the curves, it still wasn’t holding perfectly. On those parts, we used some
epoxy to fasten the fuselage tape to the hull (with a board, braced in place
with the toerail.) Held great.

Added some outdoor silicone on the edges and I have to say, we have had
zero moisture all season. Much happier now that we did the job.

        All the best,

        Edd
