My head sink was getting worse and worse until it took 20 minutes to drain. I
poured Clorox down it and now it works perfect again. Seems it killed all the
algae and such that was growing in it.

Subject: Re: Stus-List Head sink backing up?

The PO on my 35-3 put a gate? valve in the hose between the sink and the
through hull. It is accessible via the lifting panel forward of the sink.
Allows me to prevent sink fill-up on a starboard tack without accessing the
through hull which is under the v berth cushions.

This is similar vintage to my 35-3, which has a drain straight down inside the
'vanity' to a through-hull valve. Make sure that valve is open to start with.
There aren't any u-traps on my setup (you should be able to see under the
sink), so you would probably be able to get a coat hanger or longer wire down
to rod out any barnacles that may have set up home in there... Alternatively,
close the through hull and check the hose to start with.

We have to close the through hull when on a very heeled starboard tack
otherwise the sink fills - that may be how the PO left it.

I have a 1985 C&C 33-2. I just noticed that the sink in the head was backing
up. The sink has not been used at all. What would cause this? What is the
plumbing configuration and are there any diagrams available? Any help is
greatly appreciated.
