Thanks for the responses everyone. I spoke with David yesterday and he pointed out the companionway difference .. because the drawings for both boats on sailboatdata show the same layout I was getting confused. Looking at pictures online the difference is clear, aft cabin with aft head vs quarter berth and forward head. My confusion was caused by the sailboatdata pages both showing that aft cabin and I thought to myself, "isn't that just the quarter berth?". Nice boat either way. I suppose you pay for the aft cabin with that super long companionway ladder. I know they're not ideal cruising boats but spending 100k plus on a passport 40 is out of the question .. which leads me to the 37/40 .. a nice boat for sure but the 40-2 is a lot of boat for the money. Still a ways off, buying a bigger boat .. but I'de like to jump on the right boat when the time comes. It's good to have goals.
